Poem: My Truth

I say my truth with every breath

Releasing the words as I know them

Lies and deception always receive their due

Or, one should imagine it so

When my word is dismissed

With no concept of my oath

What giving one signifies

This rejection speaks volumes

A denial of who I am

Refusing to delve into me

Disdain for familiarity

A social non-entity

Nothing more than a chore to acknowledge

I am an unfortunate need to address

This isn’t my life

Not a world that I am equipped for

Carrying the sins of others all my days

Simply doing the best I am able

But a broken mind can only manage so much

No forgiveness exists for me
